THIRD WEEK

FROM 25 NOVEMBER TO 30 NOVEMBER

Successfully completed third week...

Njekkad : I successfully completed the third week of practice teaching... I complete 10 lesson plans... also I got chance to participate in the activities in the school such as collecting the fund for the student in our school for her treatment, sorting the library books for class library, taking the survey to analyse the attitude of students towards learning. Also I got chance to teach 8th, 9th, and 10th standard students in different subjects. In this week I conducted a diagnostic test to identify the area of difficulty and provide remedial teaching for the students. In this week my three class observations were completed. Teachers suggested the way to improve my self. As per the directions I make change in my teaching strategies.... In this week we provide a awareness class on the topic importance of reading. It was a wonderful experience for me. Through the activities of the school I become more close to the teachers and the students. I provide some activities for the IED students to make them happy. I observer the activities of Ullas Sir, one of the malayalam teacher in our school and leaned from him that how to be a good teacher.....

NCC PARADE IN OUR SCHOOL

     In our school a NCC parade was conducted every week. Today also there is such a parade.  Trainers were came from the NCC office at varkkala.

WORK EXPERIENCE

      I provide class for students to make useful things from waste materials. Students make pen holders from papers. They make it attractive by using colour paper. Students like the class very much.

They suggest how to made different things from paper.

LIBRARY BOOK SORTING

           New books arrived at school for class library. We have the duty to number the books and sort them for different classes. Now the library has around 1800  books. We like this job very much. By by doing this we were become familiar with the books in different language, different kind. 

DIAGNOSTIC TEST.....

               I take diagnostic test in my class to identify the difficult area of student's learning and the cause of difficulty. By doing this I understood that students faces difficulty in solving algebraic equations. Where they make mistakes in addition, subtraction, multiplication and taking  the square root. Majority of the students doesn't know the basic operations in mathematics also the fundamentals of mathematics.

EXPERIENCE OF THE DAY

AWARENESS CLASS

             Today we provide an awareness class on importance of reading among students to achieve their goal in life. Here we introduce some books to familiarize the students with them. Also make the students to be passionate in reading. It was a wonderful experience for both students and me.

SECOND OPTIONAL  OBSERVATION COMPLETED...

         Today my second optional observation has completed. Sheeba teacher came to observe my class. She suggest to make more individualized questions. I decided to improve my self by asking individualized questions to the students. She appreciate my works in the reflective journal. 

GENERAL OBSERVATION COMPLETED....

         Today Sangeetha miss came to observe  my class. She says my class is satisfactory. She suggest to improve the pupil involvement in classroom. She says that I have a very good content knowledge.

EXPERIENCE OF THE DAY

READ A BOOK.....

        Today I read a book  in mathematics named " കണക്കിലെ ദന്തഗോപുരങ്ങൾ " by Prof. K. Jayachandran. It was about the famous mathematicians and their  contributions. It is interestingly written as a letter to his nephew by describing about the contributions. While reading this book we get motivated to learn  mathematics.

REMEDIAL CLASS...

         Today I provide remedial class for the students those having difficulty in different areas. It was truly in an innovative way. It help to grab the attention of students and help to develop interest in students to learn mathematics. It cover the gaps in learning. All the students participate well in all the activity that I provided. 

SUBSTITUTION WORK.....

              As part of the substitution work I teach the students in 9th and 8th standard, the subjects IT Physics and Mathematics. It was a different experience for me.

SELF WORK....

                 As part of the self work I ask the students in 9th standard to write a poem in the topic FARMER. One of the students in standard wrote a wonderful poem. I appreciate Varsha for her work. Motivate her to write more poems.

SURVEY CONDUCTED...

             Today we conducted a survey on the attitude of students in learning and playing.  This survey help to identify the influence of games in the behavior of students. This was done as part of the pDF research.

REMEDIAL CLASS

        Today I provide remedial class for the students in 8th standard who have difficulty in learning mathematics. It help the students a lot to improve them self . 

SECOND WEEK

FROM 18 NOVEMBER TO 23 NOVEMBER

Successfully completed the second week...

Njekkad : I successfully completed the second week of practice teaching... I complete 8 lesson plans... also I got chance to participated in the activities in the school such as sorting the library books, serving the food for patients in the medical college hospital at Thiruvanandhapuram, that was a wonderful experience for me. Also I got chance to teach 10th 9th and 8th standard students. In this week I use certain videos for teaching the topic ratio, which is effective to teach certain topic... 
This school is entirely different in functioning and management... I think that the experiences that I have got from school should be a stepping stone in my career. In this week I implemented sociometry  among 7th standard students. As part of the self work several activities were implemented in  different classes. I understood that majority of the students in the school have different skills such as drawing, singing, writing. In this week I got additional duty to teach other two classes, 8.M and 8. J. Now I am familiar with the school atmosphere and each students in my class.

PEER OBSERVATION

       Today I observe the classes of Aradhana teacher and Nayana teacher. In the second period I went to observe Aradhana teacher's class 8. k. It was an ICT based class  on the topic Arrival of Aryans. She used the lecture method to convey the idea, it make the students become passive listeners. She have to improve her questioning skill and should provide individual attention to the students. Should give some activities to enhance the participation of students. More over teacher should recognize the students with their name.

          In the third period I went to observe Nayana teacher's class , 8.E. The lesson about the problems related to the topic Ratio. That was a good class. Teacher should ask more individualized questions to participate the students in the learning activity. Teacher give individual attention to the students. Should focus on the neatness of black board writing. 

STORY TELLING CONDUCTED...

         As part of the self work story telling programme was conducted in the 7.F class room. I provide a situation to the students to tell story. I just write the first sentence of the story. It begins like " അമ്മു സന്തോഷത്തോടെ തുള്ളിച്ചാടി ... ". The students shows more interest in telling the story.

DRAWING COMPETITION.....

      As part of the self work I ask the  the 10th standard students to draw some pictures that they like. One of them draw my figure. It was interesting. I understood that majority of the students have the talent to draw, but they doesn't recognized it.

വിഭവസമൃദ്ധമായ ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണം ഒരുക്കി സ്കൂൾ പി.ടി.എ...

            സ്കൂൾ ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണ പരിപാടിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി എല്ലാ ദിവസവും വ്യത്യസ്ഥങ്ങളായ വിഭവങ്ങൾ ഒരുക്കാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാറുണ്ട്. 5 മുതൽ 12 വരെ ക്ലാസുകളിലെ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് എല്ലാവരും തന്നെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാനായി എത്താറുണ്ട്. മത്രവുമല്ല അധ്യാപകരും അവിടെ നിന്ന് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാറുണ്ട്. എല്ലാവിധ പോഷക ഘടകങ്ങളും കുട്ടികളിലേയ്ക്ക് എത്തിക്കാൻ പ്രത്യേകം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാറുണ്ട്. പാൽ, മുട്ട, ഇറച്ചി എന്നിവയും ഉൾപ്പെടുത്താറുണ്ട്. ഭക്ഷണം വിളമ്പുന്നത് അധ്യാപകർ ചേർന്നാണ്...

ICT BASED CLASS....

        I use ICT to teach the topic Median of a triangle. I present a video that says about the median of triangle and the ratio of median lines. That was an effective video for teaching the topic. but due to some technical errors, the sound does'nt hear. So I explain the content.

PEER OBSERVATION...

       Today I observe Revathi teacher's class, 8.G. It was a good class. Teacher has good classroom management qualities. She taught the topic construction of quadrilaterals. While describing the way to draw the figure teacher should ask thought provoking questions to elicitate the idea to draw the figure. Teacher provide in individualized attention to each students in the class.

GUIDE MEETING...

          Today there was a meeting for guide members in our school. It was about the camp coming for the junior members. Coordinator provide guidance for  the camp.

LIBRARY BOOK SORTING....

            Today we sort the new arrived books for the class library . It was a wonderful experience for me. Through this I realize the effort taken by a librarian in maintaining the books and register. We numbered and sealed the new books that we brought and collected from different sources. Lots of books are there for students.

SOCIO METRY IMPLEMENTED..... 

         Today as part of the self work socio metry is implemented among seventh standard students. Students were actively participated in the work. Among the students through sociogram I found that ALameen is the star of the class and shebinsha and bhadhra priya are isolated students in the class.

PEER OBSERVATION

          Today I observe Hena teacher's class, 8.F. It was  an energetic class. It help me to improve my self. There is a need to improve in black board writing. She taught the students about the plant taxonomy in a different way. It is very interesting to the students.

SUBSTITUTION WORK..

        We have to manage almost all classes in the school. As the substitution work we have to go in each class were there isn't any teacher. In certain class we have to teach students and in some other class we have to give some other activities.

PEER OBSERVATION

        Today I observe Chinju teacher's class, 8.I. It was a good class. teacher taught the lesson on the topic construction of quadrilaterals. Teacher has a very good drawing skill. Teacher should be more pleasant in the class room. Teacher consider almost all the students in the classroom.
